Our Story
Bloom Senior was founded by Kimberly Chang.
After performing at the Chinese Lunar New Year Festival performance in Monterey Park in January 2023, her emotions plummeted upon learning of the tragic mass shooting, which happened mere hours later, shockingly right just 50 feet less than where she had just performed. This tragedy, combined with the Half Moon Bay incident involving older Asian men as both victims and perpetrators, led to her realization that someone who could look like her grandfather, who traveled a similar immigrant path, was suspected of committing a singularly American act — opening fire on a group of innocent people. It was then that she recognized the neglect of senior citizens' mental health.

In response to these numbers, she made it her mission to advocate for improved mental health support for this vulnerable demographic, highlighting the transformative power of experiences and a commitment to positive change in our community.
She decided to come up with BLOOM SENIOR, a senior center virtual mobile app that can play a pivotal role in enriching the lives of senior citizens by offering multifaceted advantages. It facilitates social interactions, promotes holistic health and well-being, stimulates cognitive engagement, and fosters a sense of community. This senior center virtual mobile remains valuable post-pandemic due to its accessibility, convenience, and ability to reach a wider audience. It helps combat senior loneliness, offers continued learning opportunities, gives them mental stimulation and streamlines familial communication prompting assistance during emergencies to family members
